I am planning on going by myself and am curious about the plank on south peak and watch sunset

I want to visit area at the beginning of August. I will travel from Beijing. I am curious if i can just go straight to Huashan station from Beijing instead of having to go through Xian. I know there is trains available but not sure if there is a way to get there via bus from Huashan station. I wish to do the plank road and possibly see the sunset/sunrise so if there is a hotel available at the mountain i would be happy. Then take the train back to Beijing. August 2nd -4th.

You can take high speed train from Beijing to Huashan directly. The train arrives at Huashan North Station, which is about 3 miles (5 km) away from Mt. Huashan. After arrival, you can take sightseeing bus no. 1 or 2 to the foot of the mountain. The buses are green and it is free of charge. The taxi fare is around CNY20.

There are hotel accommodation available at each peak of the mountain. As you travel during summer vacation, I would suggest you arrive early to reserve a room or book it online in advance.
