I'm Mexican travelling to Ho Chi Ming

Hi. I'm planning a trip from Mexico to Ho chi ming city on september. I'm looking a flight right now, and found one with a stop in Shanghai and about 12 hours wait. It is possible to entry to the city without a visa or using the 144 hours permission to visit the city?
