About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Arrive Shanghai Airport but leave Via Shanghai Cruise Port Terminal

I will flyng from U.S. to Shanghai, stay 2 days then leave via cruise ship to Singapore.
Do I need visas or can the 72 hour free stay transit work for this?
