About:Simatai Great Wall

How long it takes from Beijing capital airport to Gubei Water Town/Simatai?

Arriving to Capital airport around 13 PM (on 17 July), what is the best transport to Gubei Water town and how long it takes? I would spend the night there (do I need reservation prior?) and walk Simatai from early morning (when it opens?) before the heat.. is this a good plan, or I am missing something? thanks Andras

Hi, you are suggested to take bus no. 970 to Miyun Gulou Station and take no. 51 to Gubei Water Town. It takes about 2.5h.
You should buy a combo ticket of the Water Town and the Great Wall in advance online. The opening time for Simatai is 8:00-18:00 from April to October. Your plan is a good one.
