Service takes up to 3 weeks for a China visa

Hi, my partner is from the USA and holds an USA passport and he lives in The Netherlands. Today we went to CVASC in the Hague with all the documents to submit for a tourist visa. But then they said that he needs to apply online and the approval process could take up to 1-3 weeks. So now he has to apply online first. Is there a faster way to obtain the visa because our flight is in 10 days

Perhaps he can explain the need to the CVASC and attempt to apply for an express service.

Or travel under 240h visa free transit. But in this case, you need to travel along an eligible route: Netherlands – Mainland China – the third country or territory like HK and Macau, and he can stay for 10 days at most after each entry.
