About:China Visa Exemption

How is the 72 hour visa exemption period calculated for Beijing -

I've read its calculated from the scheduled flight times (arrival and departure) but more recently (from April 2016) its been revised in line with other Chinese destinations i.e. the 72 hours runs from midnight of the day of arrival. Please can you confirm which of the 2 calculations are now used by the authorities.

It's been from the scheduled arrival time to the scheduled departure time since November 2016. Some one called immigration in May to check and turned out it's still the same.
