Transit Visas for Sri Lankan nationals to Hong Kong

Could you please advise whether a national of Sri Lanka requires a Transit entry permit to transit at Hong Kong airport for a few hours en route from Bangkok to Toronto on a Thai Airways flight ?

Is there any difference if it's a Cathay Pacific flight ?

If it is required what are the required documents and where can the application be made ?

Yes, you need to apply for a HK transit visa for that. You need to provide copy of passport, the application form, a recently-taken passport-style photo, proof of your financial support, flight itinerary, and your valid visa and travel plan for Canada.
Next, submit the application to the embassy of China to apply for it.

Thanks for that response. I am told passengers flying on Cathay Pacific are exempt from the requirement of transit visas to change flights at Hong Kong airport Are you aware of this ?

Sorry, I have no idea of that. You'd better contact with the airlines to confirm that.

Didn't take the chance. Went via Seoul instead - No problem.
