Yes, you need to apply for a HK transit visa for that. You need to provide copy of passport, the application form, a recently-taken passport-style photo, proof of your financial support, flight itinerary, and your valid visa and travel plan for Canada. Next, submit the application to the embassy of China to apply for it.
