About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

When is the 72 hours counting starts, in Taipei or or in Beijing?

Since we connect in TPE to go to PEK. Isnt it TPE is part of China like Hong Kong and Macau? So where is the 72 hours countdown starts?

The 72-hour stay starts from the estimated arrival time and ends at your outbound flight's estimated departure time. Taiwan has its own visa policy and Americans are visa exempted for 90 days.
