About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stopping 72 hours in BJS

We are flying Eva Airways from Chicago IL to Beijing through TPE. We would like to stay 72 hours in Beijing. Then fly to Bangkok. Are we allowed to stay 72 hours without a visa?
