Family Travelling in Shanghai

If I purchase a Local Public Transportation Card, can I use the 1 card for all 4 of my family members to travel? Can we simply swipe the same card 4 times when using the metro?

As I know, this transportation card can be only used by 1 person. Therefore, you may prepare 4 cards for your persons.
