About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

arrive in Shangai aug 29, take cruise ship to japan next day,

return 4 or 5 days later to Shangai and fly back to U.S. same day. Are we eligible for this visa and if so, how does it work?

Jenise, if your route is like US-Shanghai (144 hours)-Japan-Shanghai (144 hours)-US, you will be eligible for the 144 hour free transit.
