About:Chinese Embassies in North America

We are on cruise leaving Japan,with an overnight in Shanghai.Do we need a visa?

If you travel like Japan-Shanghai (144 hours)-a third country or region instead of Japan, you can use the free transit. No need to apply for a visa then.
