PEK-ULN Visa free 72 hours transit

Can I benefit from a visa free arrangement if arriving from LHR to PEK and continuing my journey on a confirmed ticket onto ULN - this flight consists of PEK-BAV and BAV-ULN legs (wait at the BAV airport).

If so, you cannot use the 72 hour free transit facility because you will transit in two Chinese cities.
If your total layover in China is within 24 hours, you can use the 24 hour direct transit and then no visa will be needed either.
