Coversion of S1 visa into X1

Dear sir/Miss

I have S1 now but i got admission in Master program and i want to change my status from S1 into X1. Can i do it here in Beijing China ? Well i have resident permit till 28 June 2018

Far, you can do it at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB in Beijing.

Dear Donald. Are you sure that i can change my status from S1 into X1 here at local PSB in Beijing ?
It mean that i don't need to go back to my home country for changing status ? status from S1 type into X1 type.

Dear Donald
This exit and entry administration only situated in Beijing or every big city of china have this office. Because currently I am facing the same problem and my current city is Xian, China
