About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Just wondering if anyone can help me on a 72 hour transit visa question.

I am going to pick up a friend and then continue to Thailand. I know that I can stay for 72 hours since I am going from US- China - Thailand. My question is, how do I make this happen? I have my flight confirmation and hotel confirmation for China and Thailand. Do I present this to the airline or to the immigration person in China?

If the Chinese city you will go carries out the 72 hour policy, then you are eligible for that. When you board the flight in US, you need to inform the airlines that you want to use the 72 hour visa-free transit in China. After arrival, you can go to the transit counter to apply. You just need to provide valid passport and air tickets.
