About:China Work Visa

Will be start a job in China on Aug.1, but want to travel and visit friends before job start date.

The company has stated that my official work visa start date will have to be August 1. Is there a travel grace period before the visa start date during which it's possible to travel to China? If not, is it possible to have a tourist visa and a work visa both valid in my passport at the same time?

Hi, usually, one can make the application 3 months prior to his/her trip, so you can apply for a work Z type to travel to China before August 1. You cannot apply for a tourist L type and a work Z type at the same time.
