About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Hi, I am British and my spouse is Chinese. I currently have an L tourist visa.

My question is can I swap from an L type to a Q1 type whilst in China? If so, how is this done and how much would it cost more or less?

Thanks for your help.

Hi, yes, you can do that. You should first prepare the relevant materials including your passport, the application form, a passport-style photo, valid registration form of temporary residence, an invitation letter from your spouse and copy of her Chinese ID card, and your marriage certificate. Next, go to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to submit the application to change the tourist L type to family Q type. The application fare may be CNY304. Just for reference,
