Does one get to select a seat when you buy business seats?

I would want a window facing forward on the left side, for example.

The online train ticket is issued automatically, so the seat can not selected. While it can be done by buying a paper ticket at the ticket office. However, the paper tickets are always released several days later than the online ones, so you may take a risk of ticket sold out if you buy ticket during China's holidays.
