I am Nepali scholar now working in USA as a fulbright scholar.

I am going back to my country Nepal on June 30 via CAN airport. So, I want to have transit for 48 hr in Guangzhou (CAN) to visit my friend. So, as a Nepali passport-holder, am I eligible for 48 hrs transit visa (without cost)?
I stayed in USA for 9 months.
