How to get a notarization at the Chinese Embassy?

I am a U.S. citizen in the process of moving from South Korea to China. I need to get my Korean police check notarized by the Chinese embassy. How can I do this? Does anyone know the hours they are open or have any experience doing this? Thanks!

Hi, you should first get it notarized by the local notary public; and then go to the Korean ministry of foreign affairs and China embassy to get that attested; the required documents include your passport and its copy, your ARC card and the copy, the application form and the Korean police check .
The opening time of the embassy: 9:00-11:30 from Mon-Fri; 13:30-15:30 from Mon-Thur.

The part about the Korean Ministry of foreign affairs and the Chinese embassy is confusing...go to both? Are there fees involved?

So it's...notarize at notary public (what/where is this?), then take it to Korean Ministry of foreign affairs for (??) and then take it to the Chinese Embassy to be attested?

Any more details will be appreciated...

No, you DON"T need to notarise a Korean Police criminal record certificate. You only need to go to MOFA and get it signed and then take it to the Chinese consulate to legalise it. It is a public document so MOFA can sign it without needing a law office to notarise it first. I called the chinese consulate about this today and they said just take it to MOFA and then to them.
