Hi I am traveling to Fiji and have a layover of 13hrs in Guangzhou (CAN). I am from costa rica

Will I need a visa if I leave the airport to explore the city for those hours.

Tatiana, you don't need a visa for that. If you want to leave the airport to explore the city, you need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office when you arrive at Guangzhou airport.
