Issuing second student visa

Hello,im now finishing my year of studying chinese in china provided by the chinese government.Im here on a one year student X type,however i want to apply for a 4 year bachelors degree in China.Can i renew my student X type without leaving China and if yes what are some things i should know beforehand.Thanks alot in advance

Hi, if it is the same school, you can extend the residence permit at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it can be done, you don't need to leave China.
You should extend it 30 days prior to its expiry date.

Ok thanks but it is actually at a different school,so im guessing that cant be done?

If so, I’m afraid you need to apply for a new student X type and then get a new residence permit for that. It is possible for you to do that within China.
