We are planning to take China Eastern flight from Auckland to Manila at Shanghai Pudong Airport.

The stopover is around 19 hours. We want to take a day tour. Do we need to claim our luggage when we arrive? If so is there lockers we can hire to put our luggage while we go on a day tour?

Cheers,
Lorena

For the international to international transfer, if you have China Eastern Airline Through Checked-in Tickets, you don't need to reclaim the luggage.
The transfer procedures are Confirm Onword Boarding Pass - Check-in & Quarantine & Security Check - International Concourse - Boarding

In addition, the airport also have luggage lockers at the airport. The detailed information is the following:
T1: between Gate 4 and 5, 10 and 11 in the Departure Hall; between Gate 6 and 7 of the greeting area in the Arrival Hall Tel: +86(21)68346324
T2: near Island A and M in the Departure Hall; near the International exit in the Arrival Hall Tel: +86(21)68340076
Hope helpful!
