About:Chinese Consulates in South Africa

Im looking to go live with my father in China.

I have my passport up to date and want to go live with my father but do not have a visa , how do I go about getting a non work related or student X type. My intentions are not to go study or work in china yet but just to go live by my father. I live in George and the closest embassy to go visit is in Cape Town but will rather go to Durbans embassy because I got family there that can support me. So my questions would be would I be able to go and live by my father and would I be able to get the visa I need at Durbans chinese embassy?

Hi, if your father works in China and you are juveniles, you can apply for an S1 type to live with him. You should submit the application to the Cape Town consulate.
First, you need to provide a filled-out application form affixed with a passport-style photo, your passport and its photocopy, copies of your father's passport and residence permit, an invitation letter and your birth certificate. Next, submit the application to the Cape Town consulate.
