Im flying to Beijing from Taiwan but will stop at Xiamen for a 2 hour connection flight. My 72 hour free visa won't start till Beijing right? I have a flight out of Beijing in 2 days after landing in Beijing.

Rob, no, you won’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit in Beijing if you travel like that because you will transit in both Beijing and Xiamen. You should apply for a visa in advance.
