Hi, I am in china in Z type, I have received my work permit

but my residence permit is still pending, my Z type will expire on 29th May. I have applied for an extension of my visa but as per PSB receipt, I will get it on 2nd June.
Can I apply for the residence permit after that? or Do I have to pay any penalty on this?
