Z Visa or Residence Permit
I have a residence permit but no Z type. Can my wife apply for S1 type?

So what do you mean? Usually, the S1 type is issued to those who intend to go to China to visit the foreigners working or studying in China to whom they are spouses, so if you work or study in China and have the residence permit, your wife can apply for an S1 type.2
