About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Japan -> China -> Japan Is it considered transit?

Hi, I bought two flights, one from Fukuoka Japan -> Shanghai and the other from Shanghai -> Narita Japan again. It should be noted that they are not flight stopovers. I'm trying to spend just 40 hours in Shanghai. Would I qualify for the 144 hour free transit?

No. You're not in transit to a third country.
