About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do we qualify if 2 days in Beijing is part of our US-Tokyo-Beijing-Tokyo-US itenerary?

We fly from US to Tokyo for 5 day stay then fly to Beijing for 2 day stay then go back to US with a layover in Tokyo. Do we qualify for 72 hr transit? Thanks!
