Have L- Applying for X2 student visa

I am currently studying in Hong Kong, i plan to use the remaining days fo my L to travel in china till mid june - but then I need to apply for a student type to study at PKU throughout july.

Am i better off applying in Hong Kong, or applying in beijing while i travel in june? furthermore, if i apply in hong kong, can i get my student type issued for july and continue to use my L to travel in june?

Pat, you can try to change the tourist L type to student X type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB in Beijing. If it can be done, then you don’t need to apply for that in HK.
