About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

Retired foreigner marrying a Chinese citizen ?

I am an Australian citizen , 63 years old , and considering marrying a Chinese citizen in China . All my previous visas in China have been tourist L types. I am divorced in Australia many years ago , she is widowed . We plan to reside in China only . We have known each other for a few years .
Can anyone advise me on what procedures will be required to make this happen ? And what visa I will then be eligible for ?
Thanks .

Steve, you can do that on a tourist L type. You need to prepare your passport, the valid tourist L type for China, single status certificate and divorce certificate. next, you two can go to the Department of Civil Affairs to register your marriage.
After you two get married, you can apply for a spouse Q type to stay in China with her.
