Transit at Guangzhou with two airlines

Hi,
I am travelling from Kochi to Christchurch via Guangzhou with two different airlines. I have to collect luggage at Guangzhou airport and to check again for another airline. The time between two flights is less than 24 hrs. Do I need a visa? I am an Indian citizen.
Regards,
Jai

No, Jai, you don't need to apply for a transit G type for that because you can use the 24 hour direct transit in Guangzhou.
