About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

International flight connecting from domestic airport (Beijing-Urumqi-Almaty)

I fly into Bejing (where I want to get the 72 hour transit visa) then I will fly out from Beijing to Almaty, Kazakhstan. However, the plane has a stopover in Urumqi (I won't be leaving the airport). Is this allowed?

No, it is not allowed. You need to apply for a transit G type in advance if you travel like that.
