Visa for china via Shenzhen

Hi I am an Australian, planning a flight to Shenzhen then transit to Hong Kong return to Shenzhen then on to shanghai for one week then outward bound from shanghai, would I need a Chinese visa prior to booking my 1st flight to Shenzhen?

Ian, yes, you should apply for a double-entry visa for China prior to booking your first flight to Shenzhen.
