About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Picking up child using 72-hour free transit

I have to fly to Shanghai to pick up my child who was on a school tour and has gotten sick. Can I use this visa to fly in and out of Shanghai from the US, in one or two days?

No, USA-China-USA requires a Chinese visa in advance. You must be in transit to a third country to use the free transit option.
