About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Australian Citizen in Japan requiring Chinese Visa

Hi There,

We will be in Japan as of 13th May and plan to visit China from the 30th June on the L type. The above responses don't look promising for acquiring a Visa in Tokyo, however, friends of ours (Australian) have previously obtained Chinese Visas in Hong Kong. Are you able to confirm whether the new policy permits this?

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Mitchell

Mitchell, yes, I’m afraid the policy has changed. If you are temporary visitor to Japan, you should make the application in your home country.
Besides, if you don’t have HK residence permit, it is not easy to apply from there either.
If possible, you are advised to apply in your home country.
