About:China Visa

Notarized University Degree

My son is currently living in China on a tourist visa but needs to get a work Z type. He has his original college degree with him but was told he needs a notarized copy of degree?? I am in the US and can get it from the University but not sure how to proceed. Any advice?

Susan, yes, he needs to attest the degree at the embassy of China in US.
First, you should get the degree notarized by the local notary public; some states also require that the degree should be authenticated by the country clerk before, and then get it authenticated by Secretary of State.
Afterwards, go to the embassy of China to attest the degree.
