About:China Visa on Arrival

SH-Jiangsu-ZHejiang VOA if you have a domestic stopover elsewhere

Hi John ,
1st of all thanks for helping out everybody on this rather controversial matter the law is far from clear.
I am an Italian citizen that just got 2 weeks ago a VOA 144 hours in Shanghai flying in from HK and flying out to BKK ( I stayed in China maybe 132 hrs out of the 144 maximum).
I have now been invited to an exhibition from my Chinese partner May 4-6 and would like to fly in from Yangon (RGN) and out again to BKK.From Yangon (RGN) there are mostly cheap flights 2 leg flights that stop over in Kunming or Nanning but I have a fear that stopping elsewhere than Shanghai even if SHanghai is my final destination would defeat my VOA request, is this correct?I would most probably be sent back in Nanning or Kunming to BKK, right?

Fede, if you travel like HK-Shanghai (132 hours)-BKK, you will qualify for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. During the 144 hours, you can only visit Shanghai city, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces.
If you travel like HK-Kunming (72 hours)/Nanning (24 hours)-Yangon-Shanghai (144 hours)-BKK, you can still enjoy free transit. Or I misunderstood your meaning? Could you please be more specific?

thanks Jacqueline. So you would say that in addition to the 144 hrs in the Shanghai area I am also authorized to stop in Nanning 24hrs or Kunming 24hrs?
