About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello, I have a Saudi passport. My flight to Auckland New Zealand in 27th of June by China southern

I have two stops one of them in Wuhan and the other one in Guangzhou. The total flight hours is 48 hours. In Wuhan we stay 10 hours and 20 minutes then we fly to Guangzhou and we stay there 16 hours and 20 minutes. Do I have take a visa or not? If I want to enter China and take a hotel outside the airport, do I have to take a visa or not.
