About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello I'm going feom Kuala Lumpur to LA do I need a visa if I got two stops in china Xian and Jinan?

You can have 24 hours direct transit in China (scheduled arrival time at first stop to scheduled departure time from second stop).
