Hi, I will be travelling to China in Z-type , my wife will be accompanying me. I am not sure what visa she gets, can she work in China

An S type will be fine for her to accompany you in China, but she cannot work in China with the S type.If she wants to work in China legally, she need to find a job, and then apply for a work Z type for that.
