She needs to prepare the passport and copy of its data page, the application form, a passport-style photo, your birth certificate and its copy, an invitation letter from you, your passport, residence permit and the copies, as well as other documents required by the consular officers. After entering China with S1 type, she can apply for the residence permit at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB. Nothing else will be needed then.
