About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Connecting in shanghai with two separate flights

Hi Im a british Citizen that has been travelling around asia (Excluding China) Im wanting to book a flight back home From Shanghai to London via (abu dhabi) But i will get to shanghai from Seoul. Do i need to apply for a visa or anything to be able to get to shanghai or can i just land in shanghai and get my onward flight? I didnt plan to leave the airport but if i can that would be even better?

If you fly Seoul-Shanghai-Abu Dhabi on non-stop flights you can have 144 hrs visa-free transit in Shanghai.
