Temporary passport when in transit

Hi!
Is it possible to transit in Beijing airport with a temporary passport? I'm going to Japan(from Sweden) and have a transfer in Beijing, and my passport has less then 6month left(it has 5months and 3weeks left when I go). Japan doesn't require more than 6months, and I didn't realise that Chinese rules also applies to transit passengers. I can't renew my passport in time for the trip so I'm thinking of getting a temporary passport instead.

Will I be able to get on my next flight if I'm holding a temporary passport?

Yes, you can transit in Beijing as long as your passport(temporary passport) is still valid.
