About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Flight with en route stop over

I am flying from Christchurch New Zealand to Beijing via Guanzou where there is a 3 hour stop over to catch the second flight.

I arrive in Beijing at 12.10. Will the stop over in Guanzou (where I do NOT leave the airport) count as part of the 72 hour tourist transit? I am flying out from Beijing to UK within 72 hours of scheduled arrival in Beijing but this would be exceeded if the Guanzou section is included.

You don't qualify given you have two stops in China. It does not matter whether you leave the airport in Guangzhou where you'll be clearing immigration.
