About:Qingming Festival

Is there an appropriate way to express support or wish happiness to a person observing Qingming ?

I am a non Chinese resident of North America, and wish to respect my Chinese friends by acknowledging their holidays and traditions. Is there a way to do so in an appropriate, respectful manner

Paul, as I know, people usually sweep tombs on that day. Nowadays, more people will have an outing during the holiday.
You can text your friends and wish everything is smooth for them, but avoid to say such words as 'happy holiday'. In some regions, people would feel uncomfortable.

It is a Chinese tradition to commemorate the ancestors, it is not a celebratory festival. No celebration. Purely family affairs. Koreans, Vietnamese do have similar tradition and on same date. I think part of confusionism influnce.
