About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hours visa free Beijing Capital Airport

Hey, I am a Swiss staying in China with a student X type. I was wondering if the 72 hours free stay is applicable when I leave China for Japan and then return to Beijing for one day in order to catch my flight from Beijing to Switzerland. I've read that this is fine when you are a transit passenger, say Japan-Beijing-Switzerland. But the problem is that the flight from Japan to Beijing and the flight from Beijing to Switzerland are not connected, meaning they are not transit flights.

If you just mean that you have separate tickets Japan-Beijing and Beijing-Switzerland, then that is fine for 72hrs free transit if they are both non-stop.

Hey Leo, thanks for your reply! Yes, they are seperate tickets:) i really hope this works, because I heard that you are not allowed to have more than 1 chinese stamp per passport but as the 72h stay is not a visa i guess you don't get a stamp for it, right?
