baggage allowance on the on the high speed train

Can you please clarify information that is not entirely clear for us about baggage allowance on the high speed train to Shanghai?

Since we are arriving with a 2 cabin bags (56x45x25cm) 1 for each of us, and 2 Pcs of Hold luggage (1 for each of us) as permitted on international flights. Is it possible to take with us the specified luggage on the train?

For railway passengers in China, each adult is allowed to take luggage no more than 44 pounds (20kg) for free. There are also limitations on bag size. But in reality, luggage can be taken onboard if it does not contain the prohibited items, because the rail staff does not weigh or measure the luggage as that at airports. We suggest you board the train earlier to place your bags as the luggage space is very limited. You may also use the consignment service if you do not want to take the luggage on your own.
