About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Free transit for US and Mexican Citizen

what if I have roundtrip from Manila to Shanghai with US Passport. Am I eligible for the transit visa?

what if I book Manila to Shanghai and Shanghai to South Korea, will this work for the free transit?

You will need to apply for a visa in advance for MNL-SHA-MNL.
You can have 144hrs free transit at Shanghai if you travel MNL-SHA-South Korea (on non-stop flights).

what do you mean by non stop flights ... so my booking can be Manila - shang-South Korea - Manila?

Non-stop flights means flights that don't stop. If your flight to Shanghai (or to South Korea) makes a stop anywhere else in China then different rules will apply.
