How long does it take by subway to get to Chongming Island from downtown Shanghai? Thanks.

Hi, what do you mean the downtown area? I'll take the People's Square as the start point. The whole trip will take 5-5.5 hours. Since there is no direct metro to Chongming Island at present, you can take metro line 1 to Fujin Road Station, Exit 1. Then walk northwards for about 360 meters to find Yangbei Road Wenchuan Road Bus Stop. Afterwards, take bus Baoshan no.14 to Shidongkou Port. After that, you may take ferry to Nanmen Port directly. Then you can take Nanjian Special Line at the Nanmen Bus Station which is beside the port. Please get off at Xinjian Shuizha Station. Upon arrival, you may take a taxi to scenic area directly.1
